The Tijuca National Park

I found out about this forrest while I was looking for a promotional World Cup video. I was very surprised to learn that the Tijuca National Park is the largest urban forrest on earth. This forrest was hand-planted in the city of Rio de Janeiro and is home to hundreds of species of plants and animals. It is very close to the center of the city which used to be the original village of Rio de Janeiro. Don’t we all wish there was a giant forrest in the middle of every metropolis? Inside the forrest there are few trails that take about 2 hours to complete and lead to the highest points of the city. Sign me up!

  1. Thanks for sharing the video. What an amazing view. I wish Jakarta was more green and offered parks just to hang around. Unfortunately, you have to drive at least 2 hours in order to experience some greenery.
